A celadon specialist for more than 30 years, Photikanond creates his handmade products following ancient techniques that Chinese potters brought into Thailand 700 years ago. Celadon is a kind of high-fired stoneware, made by a method similar to any other ceramic but the work is more refined and the glaze is made from natural materials without any chemical pigments. The natural color of celadon comes from the secret mixture of the glaze solution that has been developed for years, and the conditions used in the firing process. The slightest change in the process could turn the celadon a different color than expected.
