Spring green maple leaves come together in a novel canape tray by Penphan Wangwiwat. Fresh and contemporary, it features a center well for dips. She achieves the elegant crackled color with the celadon technique. After the first firing, the piece is dipped in a glaze of ko or rokfa wood ashes and oxides. It is then high-fired for 12 hours and slowly cooled in the kiln for ten more hours. When the kiln is opened, the sound of the glaze cracking can be heard.
